Sheet Masks : Worth or A Gimmick !!

Hey lovelies...

These days Korean skincare methods and products are booming in the market and specially the sheet masks. Off late i have seen market is flooding by different types of sheet masks and even the beauty bloggers are raving about being indian bloggers or international bloggers. Recently there was #AmaskAday trend was running on the instagram and even few websites were offering 50% discount on the sheet masks. so I got curious to try out the "trending #AmaskAday" thingy and i would love to share my views on the usage of Sheet mask whether its worth the money to spend on or we can use it on some other korean products!!

So here's my take on the Sheet Masks:

Korean skin care is all about serums, hydration, brightening and the glow. Sheet masks comes in single individual packaging and definitely drenched with lots of serum. You apply a serum dripping sheet on your face for 15 to 20 minutes and  VOILAAAA !!! you are getting amazing skin.!! Well Do you really get it??

I tried different sheet masks targeting different skin problem like brightening, moisturising, pore care, hydration and nourishing, i was using sheet masks at night so that excess serum on the skin can get time to sink deep into the skin. but no matter which type of mask i was using, i was getting the same effect on the skin that is well moisturised and soft skin. ( the same i get by using night cream or aloe vera gel as night mask) except that there was no significant difference in the skin. More over all the sheet masks i tried had the fragrance that too not easy, which is not so appreciable for the sensitive skin like mine.

Sheet masks start at the price of MRP 100rs Onwards. which is one time use only and what i feel is our skin don't need that much of the serum on the skin which just evaporates. our skin doesn't drink up all the serum that one sheet contains plus we waste quite a bit of the serum in package as well.

Let me explain.. For example, There is a 1 litre water in front of us, but we are going to drink only the amount we can drink, the same way our skin will only accept the serum only the amount our skin can absorb rest is going sit on the skin only and gets evaporated.

So, if we are using sheet masks daily , we end up spending 700 rs a week (without considering the discounts). but if we spend little bit more on the specific skin concerned serum's bottle which can last 2 months minimum with regular use.

So Friends, i would suggest you can give this a shot only if you like to try new trends else the korean serums which comes in bottles are better options than the sheet masks according to me.

These Sheet Masks are available online on Nykaa.com or Amazon as well. Nykaa usually runs discounts on the sheet masks regularly.(if u want to give them a try)
